    EXPRESSION of INTEREST

    FREE beach education sessions for people 5 years and over with Disability and/ or from culturally diverse backgrounds at Werribee South Beach


    What is an Expression of Interest?

    An Expression of Interest is a simple form enabling us to collect basic information to work out how many people are interested and which dates to run which sessions. By entering your details you will be invited to register for the sessions before they are opened up for public booking, please note this Expression of Interest is not a booking for a session.

    Instructions: click on 'Get tickets', choose a date for your Expression of Interest, you will be able to choose more dates as part of the form.


    What is beach education?

    Beach education introduces children aged 5 years and over to lifesaving. It allows children to participate in safe, controlled and structured activities in a beach environment, catering for all levels of experience and skill, the program focuses on fun and education in a positive environment. This session will give participants a taste of what lifesaving is all about and help participants to understand how to be safe at the beach. Participants do not need to be able to swim.

    Disability/ All Abilities session

    This session will be specifically designed for participants with disability, led by qualified instructors trained in diversity and inclusion. Please provide basic information of the disability in the Expression of Interest form to help Life Saving Victoria plan for the session(s).


    Cultural Diversity/ Multicultural session

    This session aims to raise the water safety skills and confidence of multicultural communities.


    What happens at the session?

    Participants will be split into groups by age/ ability so that they can do activities which are suited to their level. The groups will rotate around activities which will include beach games, wading in the water and more.

    Learn beach and water safety skills in a fun and safe way to be more confident and aware at the beach.

    These sessions are able to be offered free to people with disability and/ or from multicultural background by Life Saving Victoria due to a grant.

    Registration information will be kept on a secure database and will be used in a statistical format for monitoring and evaluation/ session planning purposes only. You may be contacted for feedback to help with course improvement/ project evaluation.
