Something special for your little ocean-lover!

Program 1:

Beach Buddies is a fun, hands-on marine education program designed especially for young children. Through 4 sessions of playful exploration, sensory activities, and mini-adventures along the shore, kids learn about coastal habitats, sea creatures and caring for the ocean. The program encourages curiosity, confidence, teamwork, and a love for the natural world—all while having fun in the outdoors.

Time: 9:30-10:30 am. Grown-ups will need to stay; you're on this learning adventure too!

Location(s): Hamersley Pool & Whitfords Nodes Beach (Maps provided)

Cost: $80 for 4 x 1 hr sessions, includes all resources and equipment

Session 1: Thurs 12 Nov – Beachcombing adventure – Hamersley Pool

Discover real-life shark eggs, seahorses, sea urchins, and all sorts of ocean oddities! Then, take a seaside stroll to see what treasures the tide has brought in!

Session 2: Thurs 19 Nov – Marine animal rescue – Whitfords Nodes

Dive into a playful mission to save 'injured' sea critters and bandage up your plush toy 'patients' with basic first aid. Investigate the daily perils faced by our ocean friends.

Session 3: Thurs 26 Nov – Seashell safari – Hamersley Pool

Search the sandy shores to find seashells to fill up your bingo card. Be the first to yell "Bingo!". Discover how seashells protect and support marine life.

Session 4: Thurs 3 Dec – Supersized sealife – Whitfords Nodes

Guess the size of sea creatures! Count your steps, compare your height, and see how many kids it would take to match their size. Dive in and measure up the marvels of the deep!
