Event description

Let's face it, Covid has been brutal on our businesses.

It's been tough trying to stay excited amid the uncertainties of lockdown.

We want to connect like-minded local business people where we can hear how covid has been for them and what we can do to re-inflate ourselves and our businesses.

Plus - it's a great time to go for a walk, surf or run with a new person whose facing similar challenges and working on their pivot plan...or just to connect.

Enter Gus Worland

Founder and Director of Gotcha4life, Australia’s mental fitness charity, working to end suicide by delivering programs that create meaningful mateship, build emotional muscle, and strengthen social connection in local communities.

Join Gus as he discusses hardship, much needed inspiration and mental clarity with two fantastic panellists alongside Narrabeen Ward Candidate Matt Adderton.

Kath Koschel - is the founder of Kindness Factory Global. A former professional cricketer and Iron Man competitor, Kath has defied all medical prognoses by teaching herself to walk on three separate occasions.

Despite facing other serious personal, mental and physical setbacks, her resilience allowed her not only to overcome these challenges but also see the good in the world when most others couldn’t.

Dave Darcy - up until recently, Dave was the police commander for the Northern Beaches leading over 300 staff, a position he held for many years. Dave played a leadership role in initiating, and developing suicide prevention strategies and was the Chair of the Northern Beaches Suicide Response Steering Group on the Northern Beaches.

In his journey of discovering what he could do to improve mental health of his officers Dave discovered that it was possible to build emotional resilience both individually and collectively for his entire command. A path that ultimately lead to a more caring and empathetic work force, to each other and to the community.

David retired two weeks before the effects of COVID19 took hold.  During his lock down David, ‘pivoted’ and turned his Youtube channel hobby into a small business that has attracted over 135 thousand subscribers and 35 million views. He has also taken up the role as Editor at Large for Australian Adventure Bike Magazine.  Dave is kept busy with a grandson and a grand daughter on the way.
Dave is intensely interested in revitalising his passion for building community resilience.

Matthew AddertonWith over 20 years of running and owning businesses, Matthew understands how pressure at work affects different areas of people’s lives from physical and mental health. He is keen to support the business community on their road to recovery.

Hopefully by the end of this, you'll have some great ideas about your re-opening plan, have the energy to pick yourself up, and have met some new mates, partners or customers.
