🚨I understand that by attending a Sea Gals event:
- Sea Gals is not a swimming group and will not teach me how to swim.Â
- I will enter the beach and water at my own risk.
- I am a confident swimmer.
- I know what to do in rough waters.
- I understand that whilst the Sea Gals team will cancel any events that may increase risk such as storms or high swell, I am entering the ocean at my own risk.Â
- I acknowledge Sea Gals will be taking photos and videos at events which may include myself. I understand I have the ability to tell a member of the Sea Gals team that I do not want images taken of me.Â
- I understand that whilst I can tell the Sea Gals team that I would not like to be included in photos, Sea Gals takes a group photo which will be uploaded to social media, and therefore if I am in this photo - it will be posted regardless of previous consent choices.Â
- I understand that the only Sea Gals events are posted on the Instagram page @_seagals_ and the Sea Gals facebook page.Â
- I understand that there are risks that the Sea Gals team are not in control of, which include but are not limited to: sharp rocks, sharp objects in sand, seaweed, low visibility, waves, sandbacks, swell, wind, rain, thunder/lightning, animals, rips, dunes, buried objects in ocean floor, members of the public at the beaches, weather, surfers, other beachgoers, and other attendees behaviour.
- If I am pregnant I will be cautious and will not engage in extreme behaviour such as jumping of pontoons, running, and diving.
- If I injure myself at a Sea Gals event, I understand I can seek out the first aid kit from the Sea Gals team, but understand I need to seek my own medical assistance after the event.Â
- I understand that some Sea Gals events are held at times where beaches are not patrolled.
- I know how to flag down a member of the Sea Gals team if I am struggling in the water.Â
- If I am ill, I will not come to an event.Â
- I understand Sea Gals events are catered for women, people who identify as women, transgender women and non binary folk.Â
- I will not bring a male or transgender male to an event that is not labelled as "Sea Gals and Sea Pals".
- I understand that whilst Sea Gals asks attendees not to bring men or transgender men to Sea Gals events, the Sea Gals team is not responsible for who attends.Â
- If I am feeling uncomfortable at an event, I will let a Sea Gals team member know.Â
- I understand that Sea Gals is a volunteer non-for-profit business and aim to create a safe space for women to explore their mental health and talk about body image.
- I understand that if I do not agree to understand this list, I am at a larger risk when attending Sea Gals events.Â
- I acknowledge that any advice or information provided is for general informational purposes only and should not be considered professional or expert advice.
