Event description

Fashions come and go, but beading always seems to be present in some form or another. They can be stitched into clothing, soft furnishings, key rings and decorations, bags, and of course jewellery.

This lesson is about teaching you the fundamentals of beading skills and knowledge to make your very own unique jewellery - a choker necklace or a bracelet. Choose from beads in all sorts of colours and finishes - solid colours, translucent, shiny, opalescent.  

All materials provided and no experience necessary.

  • Basic beading techniques, step by step and very easy to follow. 
  • Materials and tools to use.
  • Tips for speed and uniformity
  • How to create your own design
  • Get started on your own choker necklace or bracelet

Who will be teaching? 

Qing (she/her) is one of our regular teachers here at Laneway Learning! She loves to cook for her family and learnt traditional methods from her parents. She has many passions and also teaches classes on origami, paper quilling, jewellery making and beading. Her favourite mediums to work with are paper, fabric and shiny beads; items allowing the freedom to do bold and detailed work alike.
