Beatles Sing-Along - The Album Show
Event description
They say “never trust anyone that doesn’t like The Beatles”. And certainly, here at The Album Show, we have seen audiences of all shapes and sizes LOUDLY express their affection for the Fab Four in our various Beatle related shows. Inspired by this, we created “The Beatles – The Live Singalong”.
The idea behind the show came from one of our other Beatles shows. The band played ”Yesterday” and the audience was singing along so loudly, that the live band was almost drowned out!! Reflecting on the show afterwards, Album Show head honcho Michael Carpenter started to put together the concept for this special show.
It’s a simple premise. A live band of some of the most accomplished ‘Beatle musicians’ in the country play 2 big sets of some of the most enduring singalong hits from the Fabs’ catalogue. The big screen behind the band displays every lyric, and the assembled people, band and audience, all sing. The effect is more alarmingly successful than Carpenter could have conceptualised. He says “the thing that struck me the first few times we did the show was how much pure joy was created by everyone joining in and celebrating these iconic songs.”
To be clear – this is NOT a ‘Karaoke’ type situation. It’s a real band playing and singing and leading the show. The band plays the songs in an authentic fashion and are committed to the sonic accuracy you’d expect from performers of this calibre. The displayed lyrics provide a colourful backdrop that draws the punter in, encouraging the type of interaction that creates such a memorable night of entertainment.
The show has successfully grown from small clubs up to theatres, with the reaction being significant and equally fervent. The Album Show looks forward to this beautiful and unique celebration of the music of The Beatles continuing to grow and bring pure entertainment joy for many years to come.
