Beaver Enclosure Tour & Talk
Description
Learn all about our incredible beaver family and experience their lives up close with an exclusive tour of their enclosure.
Learn all about our incredible beavers, the first in Hampshire for 400 years, and experience their lives up close with an exclusive tour of their 7-acre enclosure.
The event will start with a talk by our expert Rangers on beaver ecology, revealing more about these amazing creatures and their importance in ecosystem engineering and mitigating climate change. You’ll also see highlights of footage captured by wildlife cameras of all beavers showing their behaviours and habits.
Then, join us on a guided tour through the beaver enclosure to see their remarkable home for yourselves. You’ll experience first-hand their amazing, shifting world of felled trees, dams, gnawed branches, wood chips and more, and discover how they’ve impacted the ecosystem and wildlife here at Ewhurst Park.
Although definitely not guaranteed, it is possible to spot our beavers, especially the young one born this year, as they are bolder and more active during daylight hours.

FAQs
- What should I wear?
Please keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately - we suggest layers and waterproofs if cold. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and long trousers and socks to mitigate the risk of tick bites.
- Can I bring my dog?
As this event is a talk followed by a walk around an environmentally sensitive area it's not suitable for dogs, apart from service animals.
