Day 1 - Mothers or mother figures only - Saturday 6th July 12-4pm

Day 2 - Mothers or mother figures and their daughters - Sunday 7th July 930am-230pm

This is a 2 part workshop to celebrate and demystify the menstrual cycle, together discovering the power and magick of being a woman.

Join me as we embark on a soulful journey together, as mothers and daughters to demystif the menstrual cycle, and learn about this miraculous process. Together we will learn about the physical and spiritual practice offered to us as women every month, linking the menstrual cycle to the moon and the seasons. 

This workshop is for girls who are pre-menarche (have not yet had their first bleed) or who have "just started" bleeding. We will honour the feminine experience of the menstrual cycle, allowing our daughter to celebrate becoming a woman and together heal the "wounded feminine" of our times.

During this workshop, the young girls will share a special connection with their mother in a safe, supported and loving space. During this workshop all women and girls will gain a deeper understanding of the spiritual practice of the menstrual cycle, learning practical tools to work with the energy of the menstrual cycle in their everyday lives.

What to expect

In our modern day society girls can and sadly most often do receive negative messages about their menstrual cycle. This workshop allows for girls to engage in a fun and safe environment, deeply and profoundly supported by their mothers, the other women and girls present and myself to learn about the beauty of being a woman. The girls are educated about their bodies, and shown the deep connection to nature that we can have through our menstrual cycle, through sharing of stories, wisdom and most importantly through being held in a safe space where they can feel comfortable to open up and explore their curiosity.

The workshops are created to be fun, interactive and supportive. Together we will move through a series of practices and rituals to demystify the menstrual cycle, facilitating open communication between mothers and daughters.

This workshop is for girls aged 8-12 years old and their mothers.

Day 1:  The Reclaiming - Saturday 6th July 12-4pm

The Reclaiming, is an event for Mothers (or mother figures) only. It is an opportunity for mothers to explore their own experience of menarche (onset of menstruation) and how this rite of passage has shaped their experience of womanhood. This event builds trust amongst the mothers and allows a safe space for processing and questions in preparation for part 2 with the maidens (daughters). This is facilitated in a circle format over 4 hours, where mothers are invited to share their own experience of menarche and what they have learnt over the years of their cycle. A shamanic drum journey (similar to a guided meditation) will be facilitated, allowing mothers to revisit the altar of your menarche.

Day 2: The Becoming - Sunday 7th July 930am-230pm

The Becoming, is a gathering for girls, pre-menarche or just started (sometime in the 2 years prior), with their mothers, to demystify the menstrual cycle. The Wheel of the Year is taught in an interactive format, showing the overlap of our own menstrual cycle with that of the seasons and the moon. Mothers are invited to share their own wisdom that they have learnt about their menstrual cycle. This is again facilitated in a circle format over 4-5 hours, don't worry, we will have plenty of movement breaks for our girls so that they remain in engaged in the learning. A  shamanic drum journey is facilitated for the girls (and mothers!), allowing them to meet with their own inner goddess.

Both days are created to be a safe, nourishing space for mothers and daughters to learn or re-learn about the menstrual cycle and all the magick that we as women have within ourselves.
