Bee Experience - School Holidays

This two-hour experience offers a safe and unique insight into the world of honey bees.

Suit up in professional beekeeping gear, learn how to safely smoke a hive, observe bees and their colourful pollen baskets, explore honeycomb, discover the different roles within a colony, and taste a selection of honey.

Weather permitting, you’ll have the chance to search for the queen, eggs and larvae, lift frames covered in live bees, honey and brood, feel the buzz of hundreds of bees through your gloves, and capture photos and videos.

If weather prevents hive work, you may instead make your own beeswax candles to take home.

CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT UNLESS AGED 13 AND OVER.

Bring: Closed in sturdy shoes or boots, thick socks, water bottle, camera for photo opportunities (Photos can be taken for you and sent in a text).
​AVOID WEARING PERFUMES OR STRONG SCENTS.
