Beginner Basket Weaving Workshop: Napkin Baskets
Event description
The delight of making and receiving handmade baskets cannot be told enough. Participants will learn basic basket weaving skills and how to read patterns. Each participant will go home with a completed basket to enjoy or gift! Baskets will be roughly 6” wide and 6” tall, perfect for napkins or muffins!
Participants do not need to be familiar with any basket weaving or twining skills- the instructors will help you with all necessary techniques to complete this one-of-a-kind piece. After this workshop, you will never look at woven baskets the same! You will enjoy picking them up and determining techniques and materials as well as their complexities. Come create with us!
There will be a 15 minute break halfway through. You are welcome to store your food in our refrigerator during the workshop.
This workshop is appropriate for ages 18+ only.

About the Instructor
This workshop will be taught by members of the Central Texas Basket Guild, a group of people dedicated to making and teaching baskets. Baskets are one of the few items that can only be made by hand and the CTBG is dedicated to keeping the skill alive. This is a great opportunity to meet the guild members and learn about basket weaving.
