Beginners Astro Photography Workshop
Event description
In our Beginners Astro Photography Workshop, participants will embark on an exciting journey to capture the stunning beauty of the Milky Way. This hands-on workshop is perfect for those new to astro photography or anyone looking to improve their skills in capturing the night sky.
We’ll kick things off with a deep dive into the camera settings needed for astro photography, focusing on getting the right balance of aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. These settings are key to capturing the stars sharply and ensuring the Milky Way appears in all its detailed glory. You’ll also learn the best techniques for achieving long exposures without star trails, creating that magical Milky Way arc across your image.
Focusing in the dark can be tricky, but we’ll cover easy-to-follow methods to ensure your stars and foreground are pin-sharp. You'll also learn how to choose the right lenses and camera gear for astro photography, helping you make the most of your equipment.
Composition is an essential element of nightscape photography. We’ll guide you on how to creatively incorporate foreground elements like trees, rocks, or mountains to add depth and interest to your Milky Way shots. Additionally, we’ll touch on techniques like light painting to subtly illuminate those foregrounds, enhancing your overall composition.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have the skills and confidence to head out into the night and capture the stunning Milky Way in all its brilliance, ready to showcase your newfound talents.
Please note, we need a minimum of 5 participants for the workshop to proceed, so gather your fellow photographers and join us for this special experience.
