Beginners crochet for ageing well

Did you know that crochet can encourage relaxation, reduce stress, and improve dexterity and cognitive functions? It's also a great social hobby to enjoy with others! Get started with crochet as part of our Festival of Ageing from 18 November to 12 December 2025.

Learn foundational skills that will teach you how to start a crochet project and common stitches to build the body of your work. You will also learn useful terminology, as well as how you can hold the hook and yarn.

Hooks and yarn will be available for use, but you are welcome to bring your own.
