Growing home-grown veggies is a great way to connect with nature, boost your mental health and wellbeing, save money, and of course have delicious, fresh produce year-round. Our expert presenter, Kat Lavers, is a passionate gardener with a background in permaculture design, soĀ come along to this beginner-focused indoor presentation to learn the fundamentals of growing veggies at home in an efficient and low-cost way.

Topics include the basics of:

- Garden design

- WateringĀ 

- Keeping healthy soilsĀ 

- How to plant and when to harvest

Please feel free to bring any surplus produce, seeds, cuttings, plants, gardening magazines etc. to swap and share!

Do you needĀ some vegetable seeds to start your home garden?Ā From July 24, you can access the Brimbank Seed Library, located at our Sydenham Library.Ā 

Please note that this is an event for Naarm/Melbourne gardeners only. If you live outside this area, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.Ā 

This venue is wheelchair accessible.Ā If you have any access or support questions orĀ requirements in order to participate fully (eg. interpreter), please let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and we will be pleased to assist you.Ā Photos will be taken at this event, but there is an option to opt out on the day.
