Christmas Special Beginners Pottery Class
Event description
A perfect place to start your Pottery experience in a relaxed small group environment.
With a focus on Christmas and the joy of hand making gifts & decor, this series of 5 classes will provide you with all the basic skills, experience and tools to get underway with clay.
Running Friday evenings this class is intended to provide a creative outlet for busy people and will only take up a maximum of 2.5 hrs a week, suitable for ages 10-100.
Classes will focus on
Week 1 - Introduction to clay, & Pinch Pot basics
Project - Lolly Dish
Week 2 - Slab building & Use of Texture
Project - Hanging Ornaments
Week 3 - Coil Building & Joining
Project - Christmas Tree
Week 4 - Finishing off/make up class
Project - Complete unfinished projects & Refine works for Firing
Week 5 - Glazing
Project - Decorate and colour your pieces with Underglaze and Midfire Glazes.
Completed works will then be glaze fired and available for collection beginning of December - in time for Christmas gift giving or decorations.
Class price includes a basic tool kit, 1 x bag of white clay, bisque firing, glazing** and final glaze firing.
Tutor provides a limited range of coloured glazes and underglazes to complete projects. Participants are welcome to purchase any 'Mid Fire' glazes of their own. More details on this available in class.
