Beginners Pottery with Vicki Bartlett (8 weeks) 24T4

Don’t be nervous – we all start somewhere, and this class is designed for that somewhere. Vicki will bring out the muddy creativity in everyone. The pottery class is designed for beginners, and you will learn how to work the pottery wheel, beginner hand building pots, plates, bowls and anything pottery. You will also learn to glaze and fire your work in the studio kiln.

What will be covered in this course?

Each week Vicki will be demonstrating techniques such as:

• Pinch pot
• Coil pot
• Slab work
• Introduction to moulds and how to use.
• Wheel throwing
• Trimming
• Introduction tools and what can be made at home
• Earthenware glazing
• Underglazes
• Understanding clay types and firings temperatures
• How to apply glazes
• Wedging

By the end of this course students will:

Be familiar with a range of techniques with clay and glazing.

This class is for: Beginners.

*Excludes the cost of clay, glazes or firing in the kiln.

Wear comfortable clothes and closed in shoes.
