DESCRIPTION
This friendly 4-week beginner sewing program is the perfect introduction to sewing. Whether you’ve never used a sewing machine before or have tried sewing but need a little more confidence, you’ll learn the basics step-by-step in a relaxed, small-group setting.
Learn how to use and thread a sewing machine, adjust settings and practise essential sewing techniques. You’ll also learn basic sewing terminology, how to follow simple patterns, choose and cut fabric and troubleshoot common problems like tangled threads, stitch width, stitch length and seam allowances.
And best of all, you’ll put your new skills into practice by creating your own projects!
In this 4-week program you will learn to:
Identify the different parts of a sewing machine
Thread and set up your machine
Practise different stitches and sewing techniques
Understand stitch width, stitch length and seam allowances
Follow a simple pattern
Pin, measure and cut fabric
Make a simple garment and bag
