Behaviour Change for Good

Event description

Want to achieve maximum impact and outcomes when designing products, services, campaigns, or anything really?

Traditional Human-Centred Design provides a solid foundation, but isn't the answer alone. Applying the right behaviour change interventions at the right time can be the secret to success.

In this workshop, we'll share evidence-based tools, processes and frameworks to positively influence behaviour. When applied and measured, these tools will help ensure the success of your designs, saving time and money, and minimising the need to redo unsuccessful interventions.

In this fun, hands-on session, you'll learn:

  • The basic theories behind human behaviour and how you can apply this knowledge to designing interventions
  • A tried and tested, evidence-based approach to picking appropriate interventions for the problem you're wanting to help solve
  • How to measure and track the impact of your interventions
  • Ethical considerations when applying behaviour change interventions to avoid going from "nudge" (helping people do what they want to do) to "sludge" (manipulating)

We'll share case studies of different behaviour change approaches, to show you what success looks like, and what pitfalls to avoid. You'll also get a chance to test out what you've learnt with interactive activities.

Who this session is for:

Techniques covered in this session will be valuable for anyone trying to make improvements or create change on any project. Yes, that's pretty much everyone - you definitely don't have to be a designer!
