Travel instructions

Silverstream Retreat, located at 3 Reynolds Bach Drive in Lower Hutt, is accessible by car within approximately 20 minutes from Wellington via the SH2 motorway, offering on-site free self-parking. For public transport, commuters can take a 36-minute train ride on the Metlink line from Wellington Station to Silverstream Station. From the station, it is a short walk, or the retreat offers a pickup service upon request.

Entry instructions

Upon arrival, guests enter the venue through a spacious, rustic-style foyer that features a bar area, café seating, and lounge. From this central foyer, visitors can access the main auditoriums, meeting rooms, or the outdoor veranda

After entry instructions

For the conference, walk through the main entrance towards the Boardwalk Foyer and Auditorium, which features a rustic aesthetic with high ceilings, or the Pillars meeting room.

Hazards

Hazards at Silverstream Retreat include steep, uneven terrain with muddy, wet pathways, along with potential structural issues like poor insulation/thin walls. The site is in a high-seismic zone, near the Hutt River. Emergency procedures generally involve local community response points in Silverstream or Lower Hutt

Toilet location

Toilets are located on the right hand side when you enter the Boardwalk.

Accessible parking

Silverstream Retreat offers free, on-site parking for conference attendees. Parking is generally located around the venue grounds, but because it is a large site undergoing refurbishment with multiple, simultaneous events (weddings, seminars), some spaces can be quite a walk from the specific venue, or on grassy areas that may be soft.
