Behind the Bars of Silence “ (Persian: پشت میله‌های سکوت) is the third poetry collection by Afghan-Australian author and activist Aqila Quraishi (sometimes spelled Agheleh Quraishi). she’s founder and president of the Parvaz Cultural and Social Association Inc. The book is a powerful bilingual collection in Persian and English that highlights the stories, struggles, hopes, and resilience of women and girls in Afghanistan under oppressive condition

This event will host a poetry reading of selected works, as well as a panel discussion related to the topics of the poems.
