Behind-The-Scenes at Theodore Payne Foundation — October 3, 2026
Description
Ever wonder how the native plants in our nursery go from seedling or cutting to finding their way into gardens and parks all across Greater Los Angeles? From seed collection and soil production to greenhouse care and container transport, there are many facets to a working nursery.
Join TPF's knowledgeable docents for a guided tour of areas not open to the general public. Visit our plant propagation and seed conservation facilities while learning more about the work that goes into maintaining the wide selection of local native plants available to gardeners across Southern California.
This tour will be held outdoors in working production facilities. We ask guests to wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and to prepare for up to 75 minutes of walking on steep, uneven, and potentially wet surfaces. Water bottles and sun protection are strongly encouraged.
