Belco street art mural (co-design event for 18-30 year olds)

Are you aged 18-30? Want to learn how to be a street artist?
Join us for this exciting community initiative as we start with a blank canvas and transform it into public art to bring joy to people who visit or live near Belco’s Margaret Timpson park.
This is a local artist-led project. No experience is needed. Register for this unique opportunity. Limited spots.
Connect Up 2617 is working with Belco Arts to turning fencing into awesome public art. There is 34-metres of fencing to tell the stories of young people in Belco.
Workshop #3: 15 March - free 2-hour workshop, with catering provided
- We are using spray paints so please wear clothes (including shoes) that you are happy to get paint on. Masks and gloves will be provided. Please note there is a small risk of allergic reaction to the fumes. If you don't want to use spray paints, there will be a street art drawing option.
- Time: Saturday 1-3pm
- Where: Margaret Timpson Park (see map below). If there is wet weather, participants will be advised of an alternative venue for the workshop. We are in the back corner of the park under the trees near to Chandler Street. Parking is available in Westfield Mall, which is just across from Margaret Timpson Park. If you're coming by public transport then the stop is the Belconnen Bus Interchange.
Workshop #4: 22 March - free 2-hour workshop, with catering provided. Final workshop.
- As this is the final workshop, it will be held at a new location at Lake Ginninderra legal graffiti wall under the bridge at Ginninderra Drive. The workshop will include a test run of the mural. We are using spray paints so please wear clothes (including shoes) that you are happy to get paint on. Masks and gloves will be provided. Please note there is a small risk of allergic reaction to the fumes.
- Time: Saturday 1-3pm
- The meeting spot is Early Bird Expresso caravan in Diddams Close carpark (see map below). It is short drive from Belco or
- a lovely 40 minute walk from Margaret Timpson through John Knight Memorial Park and across the Ginninderra Drive Bridge
- A 25 minute walk from University of Canberra across the Ginninderra Bridge.
