Join Belconnen Rotary for triva, raffles and fun where all profits will be donated to Doris Women's Refuge and Beryl Women's Refuge in the ACT.

Doris Women's Refuge

Doris Women offers supported crisis and transitional accommodation, and outreach support for women and children leaving domestic or family violence.

They have seven stand alone properties offering one bedroom to three bedrooms and are always full with longer stays due to the housing crisis. They mostly to accommodate one family per property, but at times need to accommodate a number of single women in one property. One property is set aside for CALD women (with and without children) of uncertain immigration status who do not qualify for government support including social security. They also have a substantial outreach service, supporting women and children in the community.

Beryl Women's Refuge

Beryl Women Inc. provides supported crisis accommodation for women and their children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness as a result of domestic and/or family violence.

Beryl Women Inc is now the longest running women’s refuge in Australia.

Our philosophy is based on more than shelter alone; providing a holistic experience, where women gain the knowledge and tools for self-empowerment, in addition to a roof over one’s head.
