Bell Park Churches Tour

The Bell Park Churches Tour celebrates the diverse communities, stories and architecture that have shaped Geelong’s suburbs. Join a walking tour through the unique collection of multicultural churches in Bell Park and Hamlyn Heights, including Greek, Serbian, Ukrainian Catholic and Russian Orthodox churches.

At each church, community members will give a tour of the premises and share the history, design features and development of their church. The tour will be followed by a discussion about migration and its important contribution to Geelong’s suburban life and identity.

A chance for the broader community to learn about and share in the rich culture of these communities, the tour reveals how architecture creates spaces of belonging, connection and cultural expression, and the important role community places play in shaping Geelong’s social and design heritage.

12–12.30pm — Light refreshments and discussion

Approx Arrival Time 10:25am

Stop 3: Russian Orthodox 17 Yaraan St, Bell Park VIC 3215

Approx Arrival Time 11:15 am

Stop 4: Ukraine Catholic Church 21 Alder Cres, Bell Park VIC 3215

Approx Arrival Time 12:05 pm

12:30 pm Optional, return to: - Stop 1: Greek Orthodox Church, 1/3 Taliska Ave, Hamlyn Heights VIC 3215 to enjoy some light refreshment.

Please wear walking shoes and appropriate attire for visiting places of worship, bring a bottle of water, a hat, sunglasses and any other all-weather items.  If you have mobility issues, you may wish to drive between the Serbian and Russian Churches.
