BELLICANTA'S Launch Party w/ Monstress & Packed With Haste

This winter we are back for nights with our slow-fermented, hand-shaped sourdough pizzas: Bellicanta's is Piratti bakery's nocturnal, fireside counterpart.

Joining us for our launch party are Monstress, Sydney-based nu-jazz, hip hop and soul five-piece, bringing silky hooks, spoken word and lush harmonies to a groove-driven experience, and packed with haste, the brainchild of the generous and indomitable (Elton) James Hodgett, a live-produced ambient jazzy house act with soft, soulful vocals and deep bass.

Monstress are a 5-piece all female and non-binary creative collective based on Gadigal land in Sydney. Front woman Sarah Homeh writes, manages, produces and performs for the band on electric bass and vocals. Drummer/percussionist Hayley Chan, keyboardist Hazel Alexander, guitarist/graphic designer Adrianna Cicchitelli, and saxophonist/vocalist Jenna Lewis not only perform with the band but are crucial collaborators during songwriting, composition, and physical/visual media creation. Their jazz-infused grooves echo influences like Tank & the Bangas, Doja Cat, Lil Simz and Eryka Badu. Vocalist & Bassist, Sarah Homeh’s silky melodic hooks and spoken word spells slice through lush harmonies and imaginative solos of a stellar all-female & non-binary lineup.
