Belly Dance Solo Patterns for LIVE Drum Solo
Event description
And we’re back!!
Join Rafic and Nancy in this LIVE percussive workshop on the beautiful Central Coast as we delve into fun solo patterns found in Egyptian Drum solo’s played for Belly Dancers!
In this workshop we will look at a few solo patterns, and then learn some fun combinations/isolations we can sequence to the patterns. Movements will be broken down and learnt, and then each combo will be played in sequence - resulting in the experience of your very own LIVE drum solo!
This workshop is open to ALL levels with something for everyone. Even if you have never belly danced before, you will gain an understanding of how to break down these patterns and simply have some fun challenging your neural circuits in learning something new!
For those with a background in Belly Dance, there will be some intermediate combinations to try and the challenge of memorizing it all to dance and perform LIVE to the beat of the drum!
The workshop will end with a sharing of Rafic and Nancy’s cultural background in the community dance of the Dabke. Get ready to learn some basic moves of this Levant folkloric dance to the exhilarating sound of the Tabal!
