Beltane Ritual & Celebration
Event description
Join Earthstar and Nicki on Saturday 1st November at the Mount Egerton Recreation Reserve between 1pm and 5pm to celebrate the turning of the Wheel.
Beltane is the third and final fertility festival on the Wheel, the peak of Spring and the gateway to Summer. This is a time of sacred union between the feminine and the masculine, a time of joy and passion! The evidence is all around with flowers bursting into bloom and begging to be pollinated.
Beltane is a cross quarter point on the Wheel, and shares an axis with Samhain in the Northern Hemisphere. It marks the exact point between Spring Equinox (Ostara) and Summer Solstice (Litha), sitting in the direction of North East on a compass, and one of the four Fire Festivals. It is a time when the veils are thin with the faerie folk, a time full of magic and the promise of full potential 🧚
As we move into the warmer weather, we will once again be gathering outdoors, in the forest at the edge of the recreation reserve. You will be greeted on arrival and guided to our gathering place.
You can expect an outdoor gathering with the following:
✨ You will be smudged on arrival prior to entering the space
✨ Calling the Directions as a group
✨ Teachings around the significance of this time of the year
✨ Seasonal sacred crafting activity - crafting flower crowns
✨ Beltane Ritual
✨ Crafting an Earth Altar as a group
✨ Nourishing afternoon tea
✨ Teachings around herbal allies and practices for this time of year
✨ Singing & drumming around the Earth Altar in the forest.
We are looking forward to sharing a nourishing afternoon with you, steeped in ritual and ceremony as we celebrate this point in the Wheel.
Participants to be aware that there may be uneven ground in the forest. We recommend wearing close toed shoes and bringing along a camp chair if you need one. Cushions and picnic blankets provided.
Please bring along an offering for our Earth Altar. Natural items only, please! This could be herbs or flowers from your garden, a feather or stone. A simple offering to the land in reciprocity.
The final part of the gathering will be our Singing & Drumming Circle. Bring along your voice, your drum if you have one (other musical instruments are most welcome, or stamp your feet and clap your hands, drum your heartbeat on your chest - all forms of joyous self expression are welcome!). We will provide a basket of small percussion instruments to share, such as rattles and clap sticks... don't let not owning a drum be a reason to miss out!
There will be plenty of time throughout the afternoon to sink your roots in deeply and connect with the others who have come along.
We are so looking forward to singing and drumming with you! Cultivating joy and raising our collective vibration as we celebrate the turning of the Wheel.
Love, Earthstar & Nicki
