Description

The land is swelling with passion and promise!

In the Kulin Nation's seasonal calendar Buath Garru, Grass Flowering Season, has arrived. Across the Australian landscape, magic if afoot. Kangaroo grass sways in warm breezes, small bats flit through twilight's purple veil, and male butterflies dance their mating dances on the wind.

The Christmas bush erupts in fiery splendour. Orion sinks low into the dawn sky, signalling abundance spilling across the land.(Seasons of the goddess in the southern hemisphere)

Nature bursts into vibrant, sensual fertility. Lover Earth awakens, and we are invited to open to pleasure, potential, and the ecstatic pulse of life itself.

In the Celtic tradition, Beltane fires once burned high through the night. Bonfires were lit and leapt over by lovers celebrating the union of their passion.

Though we cannot light fires in the Parklands where this ritual will take place, we shall enact the sacred rite and leap none the less using sacred theatre practice and scarf magic. We shall circle dance as a community sharing our gratitude for great Lover earth and we shall sing and feast together honouring the abundance in our lives.
