Queen of Hearts: Divina
Event description
Melbourne-based Queen of Hearts offer a vibrant and polished fusion of Latin American rhythms, folk, blues, rock and contemporary influences. Performing in Spanish, English and Spanglish, their carefully arranged harmonies, dynamic instrumentation and strong stage presence combine into a live music experience that is uplifting, culturally rich and emotionally engaging. With an all-female line up of five accomplished musicians, Queen of Hearts exquisitely dazzle with their original compositions alongside tasteful reinterpretations of Latin classics and iconic global songs, including the most exceptional versions of the Divinyls’ ‘I touch myself’ and AC-DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’.
Queen of Hearts connects with both Latin American communities seeking cultural resonance and general audiences drawn to vibrant live performance and meaningful storytelling. The ensemble itself is a reflection of modern Australia: multicultural, multilingual and creatively ambitious. Their repertoire, emotion and the richness of their live energy bridge cultures and resonate across generations.
They have appeared at major festivals including the National Folk Festival, Port Fairy, The Boîte, and Brunswick Ballroom. Following the release of their second studio album Divina (2025), this will be their first performance in Brisbane.
Queen of Hearts are Elizabeth Obando (vocals, bass, vihuela), Bonnie Smith (vocals, guitar, vihuela), Vanessa Estrada (vocals, percussion, vihuela), Sarah Camm (vocals, trumpet) and Rose Kavanagh (vocals, violin).
Presented in partnership with Mirrorball Ministries.
