From early collaborations with Norman Blake and Tony Trischka to his solo projects exploring Italian string virtuosi and immigrant ballads, Gambetta’s work invites listeners into a rich, cross-cultural conversation shaped by fifty years of musical exploration. His latest release, Terra Madre, features collaborators like David Grisman, Tim O’Brien, and Howard Levy, continuing his legacy of crafting heartfelt compositions rooted in heritage and human experience.

Opening the evening is Rees Shad, a masterful Americana storyteller known for his deep catalog of narrative-driven songs and cinematic songwriting approach. Together, Gambetta and Shad offer a night of acoustic depth and global perspective—an experience tailor-made for Godfrey Daniels’ intimate, listening-room setting.

Beppe Gambetta is a guitarist, vocalist, researcher, and composer born in Genova, Italy in 1955 who developed a style of concert presentation that brings American and European Roots to speak together with one voice. In his unique approach, Gambetta blends energetic grooves with passionate melodies, giving new lif to sources from different times, periods and places. In addition, the original music he composes gives contemporary influences to traditional roots music.

Alongside his persona as an acoustic guitarist and singer, Beppe Gambetta has brought to the fore a consistent songwriting vein, enthusiastically received by critics and audiences, and for many months at the top of the U.S. independent charts. 

Based on the artists' right to dream of a beauty that defies the grayness of reality, the program takes us to a world of stories and dreams linked to the motherlands of infinite possible itineraries.
