The Berkeley Storytelling Festival culminates with a special edition of Third Culture Tales, the live storytelling series created by Diaspora Arts Connection that centers stories shaped by migration, identity, belonging, and life between cultures.

Featuring a curated lineup of storytellers, artists, performers, and community voices, the evening explores the deeply human experiences that connect us across backgrounds, histories, and cultural boundaries. Through personal narratives that range from humorous and intimate to reflective and emotional, storytellers will share experiences of family, displacement, memory, language, love, community, and finding home in an increasingly interconnected world.

At a time of growing division and polarization, Third Culture Tales creates space for empathy, listening, and shared humanity through storytelling. The event is rooted in the belief that stories have the power to bridge difference, challenge assumptions, and remind us of the experiences we hold in common. Rather than simplifying identity, the evening embraces complexity, inviting audiences into stories that reveal the nuances of living between worlds while also uncovering the universal threads that connect us all.

Presented in the intimate atmosphere of Impossible Stage, the closing night program brings together the spirit of the festival through a powerful evening of live storytelling, performance, and community gathering.

Third Culture Tales is an initiative of Diaspora Arts Connection (DAC), a Bay Area nonprofit organization that has produced over 500 cultural events supporting immigrant and diaspora artists and communities. Through live storytelling events in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam, Third Culture Tales has created a growing platform for stories exploring identity, migration, and cross-cultural connection.
