Best Practice Principles in Social Impact Measurement: A live virtual session.
Event description
Best Practice Principles in Social Impact Measurement: A live virtual session.
At Huber Social we've been at the forefront of defining best practices in social impact measurement, and traversed borders and contexts in work across 10 countries - including Aotearoa New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Uganda, and beyond - to evaluate impact over the last 7 years.
Our expertise thus far has culminated in the drafting of the Standards Australia 'Measuring and Valuing Social Impact Handbook' and the development of The Huber Academy Social Impact Measurement and Management Accreditation course. The Standard (SA HB 204:2022) provides guidance on the measurement and valuation of social impact, which is characterized as the overall effect of an initiative or change on the wellbeing of an individual or group.
It sets out a principle-based framework for measuring social impact, including eight principles, and recommends developing an impact thesis and using a scientific method. The Standard is intended to help decision makers determine the appropriate choice of measurement approach in the context of decisions they need to make.
From the session will you come away with:
- A deeper understanding of the social value measurement ecosystem, and the components of social value.
- The descriptions and rational behind each of the eight principles of measuring and valuing social impact.
- Guidance for the practical application of the principles in your context.
This session is tailored for professionals and enthusiasts alike who are keen on understanding the nuances of social impact measurement, or seeking to enhance their current practices. The session will be live, and hosted by Huber Social Chief Integrity Officer Brett Nan Tie, and Head of Delivery Simon Vaughan.
