Better Outcomes 2024 – a practical approach to assessment and management of post-traumatic stress disorder
Event description
Better Outcomes
A practical approach to assessment and management of trauma-related mental illness.
As a GP or health professional working in, or supporting, regional and remote communities, being well-prepared with the latest research insights and resources is one of the best ways you can support your community with the mental health impacts of trauma.
Latrobe Health Services and Phoenix Australia - Australia's National Centre of Excellence in Posttraumatic Mental Health have partnered to bolster services for regional and remote communities who need better access to trauma mental health services.
Our Better Outcomes webinar has been created by trusted experts in trauma-related mental health and well-being to bring you the latest information on trauma treatment options, share helpful information and explore how to get the best outcomes for regional and remote patients.
An informative and educational presentation led by Phoenix Australia experts Dr Rahul Khanna, Clinical Director at the Phoenix Australia-led Transforming Trauma Victoria initiative and Dr. Greg Roebuck, the inaugural supervising psychiatrist of the Regional psychiatry clinic funded by the Latrobe Health Services partnership.
Together, they will guide us through how to identify and respond to psychological trauma in the clinic, share common diagnostic challenges and provide an overview of the evidence-based PTSD treatments and guidelines. They will share their insights and experiences in assessing and treating trauma-related mental illness, as well as multi-disciplinary care and referral pathways for trauma mental health treatment in regional and remote communities.
