Between Two Shores: Stories of Connection
Event description
Join Selina Graham and Eilidh Inara for an evening of storytelling and music exploring the connections of Ireland and Scotland and the sea that joins them.
Selina Graham is a storyteller, writer and producer. Her work focuses on the connection between tradition and modernity, bringing the best of both into an artistic practice focussing on bridging the space that exists between the self and community by supporting the personal creativity of all.
Eilidh Inara is a writer, musician and storyteller working in Glasgow. With a background in Applied Storytelling, she has a deep understanding of the power of stories to inspire, shift our perspectives and connect us. In her personal work, she seeks to bring this sensibility to the fore and create spaces where everyone – even grown-ups – can experience the magic of stories.
Between Two Shores is a collaboration between Eilidh and Selina, exploring connections both mythical and personal. What began as a conversation around their shared roots in both countries has grown into a project looking at the links between these lands, and the long history of stories travelling over the sea between them.
Storytelling is one of the oldest artistic mediums in the world, with a long tradition in Scotland and Ireland. Join Selina and Eilidh to experience this form of intangible cultural heritage in its modern, living form.
