‘Beyond Chords’ Ensemble Workshop

There are still spots available for vocalists, solo instruments & bass players!

There are NO spots left for guitar or piano players.

‘Beyond Chords’ is a music workshop led by Ken Parrish where participants will explore, practice and play music from multiple genres: blues, R&B, acoustic rock, C&W, folk and jazz.

We will focus on applying the fundamentals of music theory and harmony across all these musical forms to help us accompany and improvise with confidence and play together as an ensemble.

We will form a working band from all participants with the goal of practicing and playing what we learn - and having fun in the process! Participants may contribute songs to study and play.

Enrollment will be limited by instrument to ensure a balanced ensemble. Early registration is recommended! We recommend contacting the instructor with any questions or concerns prior to registration.

Quotes from previous workshops:

"You can tell that he's put in a lot of time organizing his workshop - it's a step by step process that leads to multiple "aha" moments among the students. I see some of these students at other venues, and they've mentioned how they are working to incorporate Ken's lessons into their playing (as am I)."
“The course material was well presented with a mix of lectures, live demonstrations, and musical participation. The course book he compiled is terrific, and features theory, practical concepts, and a roadmap outlining areas for further study for folks that want to continue beyond the class material.”
