Beyond giftcards: recognising and remunerating young people for their participation
Event description
What to expect
This engaging webinar will give you knowledge and skills to remunerate young people appropriately and recognise their effort and expertise.
We unpack best practice when it comes to paying young people, including tips on navigating assessable income and how remuneration impacts Centrelink payments.Â
Please note, YACVic cannot and do not give legal advice and this training only answers common remuneration questions and shares our approach. We would recommend seeking advice from a financial advisor, Centrelink or the ATO.
Topics we cover
- Why is paying young people important?
- What is remuneration and when should I remunerate young people?
- How much should I pay young people for their time?
- Should I use gift cards or pay in cash?
- How to help young people untangle the ATO and Centrelink impacts of remuneration
