Beyond risky play: Children’s and educators’ risk-taking in early childhood education

Risky play is becoming increasingly common in early childhood settings; but is there more to risk-taking than risky outdoor play? This workshop will unpack the complex concept of risk-taking, broaden your understanding of the kinds of risks children might take in early childhood education settings and explore the risks that educators might take in the pursuit of high quality education. The workshop will help you reflect on your approach toward risk-taking and explore practical ideas for supporting positive and purposeful risk-taking in your setting.
