Beyond The Bell’s Art Day is a special screen-free camp designed for kids who love to create, imagine, and explore. Set against the backdrop of Sydney’s most iconic galleries — the MCA and the Art Gallery of NSW — it’s a day of inspiration, expression, and big ideas.

Kids travel by ferry from either Balmain East Wharf or Rose Bay Wharf, arriving at Circular Quay ready to dive into a full day of art, nature, and connection. With sketchbooks in hand, they’ll explore contemporary and classic works, enjoy guided creative prompts, and picnic in the Botanic Gardens.

Led by qualified educators, this small-group experience balances reflection and play — giving kids the chance to move, belong, and grow through artistic exploration.

A Day at BTB Art Day Might Look Like:

🛥️ 8:30 AM – Ferry Departure from Balmain East + Rose Bay
Kids are welcomed by staff and travel as a group to Circular Quay.

🎨 9:30 AM – MCA Gallery Visit
Creative prompts, sketching, and thoughtful exploration of current exhibitions.

🍎 11:00 AM – Morning Tea in the Botanic Gardens

👣 11:30 AM – Guided Walk + Art Hunt
A scenic stroll through the gardens and Domain, with mini art challenges en route.

🖼️ 12:00 PM – Art Gallery of NSW Visit
Each child chooses a piece that speaks to them and responds with drawing or storytelling.

🥪 1:00 PM – Picnic Lunch + Free Drawing Time

🧠 2:00 PM – Collaborative Art Activity
Group zine-making, postcard painting, or mural-style reflection.

🔔 3:00 PM – Wind-Down Walk & Ferry Ride Back

🚗 4:30 PM – Parent Pick-Up at Balmain East + Rose Bay Wharves
