Beyond the lecture - creating active learning experiences
Event description
As higher education continues to evolve, many courses are embracing a mix of face-to-face and online learning experiences. This shift calls for a move away from traditional lecture-based teaching towards more interactive, student-centred approaches that emphasise active participation, collaboration, and deeper learning.
In this interactive workshop, you’ll explore the principles of flipped learning and how to reframe your course to encourage greater student engagement. Through discussion and hands-on activities, you’ll examine effective strategies for designing and facilitating learning across both online and on-campus environments, and how to make intentional use of educational technologies to support these approaches.
Grounded in established educational theories, frameworks, and design approaches, the workshop will guide you in applying evidence-informed strategies to create impactful synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
