Big Gay Boxing: Darlo Special

SWEAT IT ALL OUT 💦

Big Gay Boxing is a seriously fun werkout with totally iconic playlists — a safe space to make friends and feel good.

Together we trade sweat for joy and strength. We learn, burn and have furrn.

What to expect:

• Sweaty: Rotate through nine rounds of exercise including beginner boxing combinations with pads and gloves (partner-based, non-violent), and bodyweight conditioning movements. It's your body, your choice — so feel free to modify and slow down or speed up as needed.

• Silly: Each session is powered by a unique theme from gay pop culture, with a hand-crafted playlist to match. Dance, laugh and embrace queer joy with us.

• Social: Our team are warm, friendly and keen to chat. If you're attending solo (like most people), we'll help you meet someone new to partner up with.

Where to meet:

Find us in the Middle Bar at Kinselas in Taylor Square.

Doors open 15 minutes before the start time. If you arrive more than 5 minutes after the start time, you will not be admitted.

What to bring:

• Water bottle

• Small towel

• Boxing wraps (optional)

What's provided:

• Boxing gloves

• Boxing pads/mitts

• Cleaning supplies

Bring your own gloves and pads if you prefer.

All welcome (ages 18+):

• All genders and sexualities (yes, you can be straight)

• All shapes, sizes and abilities

• No experience necessary

• No dickheads

• No racism

We're committed to creating a safe space. If there's something we can do better, please let us know.

Photography:

• Please do not take photos or videos of other participants.

• Our event crew and invited third parties might capture content for promotional purposes. If you'd like to opt out, please let us know at check-in.

• At the end of the session, we'll take a group photo to post online. It's your choice if you're in the photo or not — no pressure.

Accessibility:

• Kinselas Middle Bar is only accessible via a staircase. 

• All toilets are gender-neutral.

• We recommend bringing event earplugs if you’re sensitive to loud sounds.

• We have Hidden Disability Sunflower Wristbands available if you’d like to wear one — just ask at check-in.

We get sweaty on Gadigal Country. We pay respect to Elders past and present. Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land.
