Overview: Collaboration & Program Planning for Albany 2026
Join us for an inspiring online masterclass exploring the collaborative journey behind the City of Albany’s 2026 programming. This session will delve into the strategic planning and partnership approach that underpins the commemorative program, with a special focus on working respectfully and meaningfully with Traditional Owners.
The City of Albany respectfully acknowledges the Menang Noongar people as the traditional custodians of the land on which the City conducts its business and pays respect to elders past and present.
Albany 2026 strategic planning and programming has been developed according to the Menang First statement, agreed upon by representatives from the Menang Noongar community
Vision
Showcase Albany by reflecting honestly on our past, celebrating our community today and creating a future where anything is possible.
Purpose
Advance Albany as a nationally significant regional cultural centre by showcasing and involving its diverse and unique people, Aboriginal culture, environment and produce, to recognise our shared past and look forward to our future.
The events, programs and products will support tourism and provide significant social and economic development and benefits to the Albany community.
This will be done through the Albany Approach: Menang First, co-designed and co-decided with the Albany community.

Collaborative Planning: How the City of Albany is fostering cross-sector partnerships to deliver a diverse and inclusive bicentenary program.
First Nations Leadership: Spotlighting the co-design process with Traditional Owners to ensure cultural integrity, truth-telling, and celebration of Noongar heritage.
Program Highlights: A guided preview of the City of Albany’s official 2026 Bicentenary program, showcasing signature events, community initiatives, and legacy
