Refresh and revitalise Sunday morning 19th May from 8-10am, before the second day of the Big Chill Festival in a cold-water plunge, quick swim or the Big Chilly Mile. Experience the latest Armidale social event that unites the shivering community.
Chilly Dip Options: Chilly Plunge or Small Chilly Swim or or Big Chilly Mile (1.6km). Participants must be aged 16+ years.
Your ticket includes a free Big Chilly Dip beanie and bacon & egg roll to kick off your Sunday, provided by the Armidale Rams Rugby League Football Club.

CANCELLATION - If the event is cancelled there will be no refund. Beanies can be picked up from Armidale Regional Council Foyer at 135 Rusden Street from Monday 20th May.
ITINERARY CHANGES (OR CHANGES TO THE ITINERARY)- Whilst a designated area is proposed for the event. conditions beyond our control, for example bad weather, or other unforeseen circumstances will dictate where and if activities are undertaken. Swimming Coach, James Harwood, and ARC personnel will determine if we can proceed with the swim, the length of the swim and at which location.
PLUNGE AND SWIM – Chilly Dip swimmers must be aware that the on-site swim coach/ support person has sole responsibility for swimming activities and has the right to refuse swimming to any individual without recompense for reasons of health including instability or suspected or real intoxication, for disruptive, upsetting, or dangerous behaviour to yourself or anyone else or for any suspected or real inability or incompetence. We reserve the right to change the distance and /or location of our swimming; and, to cancel swimming if the weather or other conditions do not permit or presents danger to our activity.
FITNESS AND HEALTH- You are required to have some experience in open water swimming in a Dam. Swimmer requires ability to swim in water conditions below 17 degrees Celsius. Note: For this event you need to be of good health condition to participate and aged over 16 years. If you have any doubt about your health, please consult your doctor. If in our opinion our event is unsuitable for your requirement, we may refuse to accept your booking.
OUR RESPONSIBILITIES-We always do our best to make sure Chilly Dip experience is satisfactory.
However, we do not accept liability in contract or in tort (actionable wrong) for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or other events which are beyond our control, or which are not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part including but not limited to war, civil disturbance, fire, floods, unusually severe weather, acts of God, acts of Government or of any other authorities, accidents to or failure of machinery or equipment or industrial action.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES (APART FROM THOSE MENTIONED ABOVE) INCLUDE
1) To bring all equipment needed for the open water swimming (e.g. swimsuit, goggles, plunge in-water footwear and warm clothes, etc.)
2) To arrive to all scheduled swims on time and at the correct meeting point for the safety briefing
PHOTOGRAPHS During our event photographs and videos will be takes. These may subsequently be used on our websites, social media and in promotional flyers. If you do not wish for us to use these pictures and videos, please let us know.
