Event description

Friday night improv just got better; it's now Big Dang Friday! July 11 features Caught up in the Hoo Ha, Electric Cactus, and Fugue State: One Man Improvised Musical!

Caught up in the Hoo Ha takes the audience on a wild, improvised ride bouncing back and forth as they unpeel characters and scenes like onions. Featuring: Ian Jungmann, Jaydon Graeme, Sara Jackson, Peter Van Nuys, Carrie Sumner, Nono Osuji, Bertha Munuku, Zachary Barrera, and Siali Siaosi. They are coached by Liz Robinson.

Enter a landscape where the familiar flickers and fades, replaced by the surreal hum of unseen currents that is Electric Cactus. They weave a tapestry of scenes born from a single, whispered word, a fleeting gesture, a shared breath—and the crackling energy of a phantom circuit. Forget plot, forget structure. This is an exploration of the subconscious, a dance with the unseen, charged by the unpredictable spark of electricity. Watch as characters emerge, not fully formed, but as fragments of dreams, embodying emotions and archetypes rather than defined roles. Wires tangle, sparks fly, and the very fabric of reality shimmers with an electric tension. This is improv unchained, a journey into the heart of the abstract, where the current is always live. Electric Cactus features Stephanie Bell, Nicole Brown, Chris Eisterhold, Will Holston, Andrew Kennedy, Joel Mendez-Zarate, Tristen Rouse, Natalia Trigo, Tyler Vornberg, and Lin Woodson. They are coached by Greg Mihalik.

In Fugue State, one man and one pianist create a one-of-a-kind musical on the spot! Stomping Ground Training Center Director and veteran performer Greg Mihalik improvises a musical by himself with the help of esteemed accompanist and musical director Joshua Diamond. Watch in wonder as Greg takes the audience on a musical journey that follows the path of several unique, larger-than-life characters all played by one man. Come see what the Dallas Observer called "a one-man show that's actually impressive." Note- for the July 11 show Greg will be joined by accompanist Chad Espiritu.
