Event description

proACT - the community-based movement in the ACT dedicated to getting an Independent Senator elected at the next Federal  election - is very excited to invite you to an exclusive screening of BIG DEAL: Is our democracy for sale?

On the back of War on Waste and Fight for Planet A, Craig Reucassel has partnered up with comedian Christiaan Van Vuuren to make the feature documentary Big Deal: Is our democracy for sale?

Due to lock down, the cinematic release in the ACT has been delayed. This is your chance to see the movie... in the comfort of your own home!

This film is going to be a game changer. It’s really tough to find ways of reaching Australians who care about good democracy, but have become cynical. Craig and Christiaan have nailed it, asking hard questions about the way big industries, like guns and fossil fuels, influence our politicians. The political analysis is hard-nosed and gripping, but it’s also a hilarious, heart-warming and ultimately hopeful story of people power.

We are thrilled to be able to offer you access to Big Deal through a link that will last 48 hours only. You will receive the link on the evening on Friday 24 September and you will have until late Sunday evening to watch to movie.

Then join a panel discussion on Monday 27 September at 7.30pm. Hosted by Alex Sloan and featuring Craig Reucassel, Richard Denniss (Australia Institute) and Clare Doube (proACT) it is sure to be a fun and informative event. A Zoom link for the panel discussion will be provided on the day.
