Every child deserves the chance to dream big, but for those in foster care, the journey to realising their dreams is often hindered by trauma and neglect. Children in care have the worst educational outcomes of any group of children in Australia (AIHW):

• 92% of children are below the average reading level at age 7. Low levels of literacy is an indicator of poor health associated with disadvantage and a higher chance of being homeless;
• 75% of children in care do not complete 12 years of school. This can have a negative impact on their work and educational outcomes.
• 35% of children in care are entering the juvenile justice system.

With more than 45,000 children living in foster care, there has never been a more vital time to support kids in care. Together, we can help to break the cycle of disadvantage.

ABOUT THE BIG DREAMS GALA BALL

The Pyjama Foundation empowers children and young people living in foster care with learning, life skills and confidence to achieve their dreams. Please join us for a magical evening at our Big Dreams Gala Ball to help us raise vital funds for our life-changing Love of Learning Program. This program equips children who need it with the essential tools they need to foster confidence, skills, and a belief in their own potential.
