Bike Explorers (7-10yrs) October 2026

Our Bike Explorers sessions run over 2 days, from 09:00 to 15:00.

Mon 12th & Tue 13th October 2026 for 7-10 year olds.

Includes

• Looking after your bike; safety checks, cleaning & lubrication, puncture repair

• Ride preparation; learn about the outdoor access code and bikeability basics, checking the weather, bike games and skills assessment

• The ride; a cycling adventure on quiet tracks, paths and cycling infrastructure

Small groups - max 8 participants.

Please note participants must be able to confidently ride a bike, we will be riding mainly on tracks, paths and cycling infrastructure. Children must be dropped off and collected by an adult at the Recycke-a-bike premises.

Please bring; Helmet*, bike*, packed lunch, snacks and drink. Suitable clothing for the weather, waterproofs a must! Suncream and any medication. (* You can bring your own roadworthy bike and helmet or we can provide these, just let us know. If you bring your own bike we will safety check and may make minor adjustments, if we deem it unsuitable we may ask for your child to use one of our bikes).

Please note this event will go ahead no matter the weather but we may opt to adjust content.

We require a minimum of 4 participants for this event to run.

Participant Disclaimer & Consent Participation in cycling activities involves inherent risks, including falls, collisions, mechanical failure, and injury. While every effort will be made to provide a safe environment, instruction, supervision, and properly planned activities, participation is undertaken at the participant’s own risk. Parents/guardians acknowledge that cycling is a physical activity and confirm that their child is medically fit to participate. All participants are expected to follow safety instructions, wear appropriate safety equipment, and behave responsibly throughout the workshop. Recyke-a-bike, its staff, volunteers, and instructors will not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the event except where caused by negligence or where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law. By registering the parent/guardian gives permission for the child to participate in all activities, including supervised rides on public routes and cycle paths.
