This training is for bilingual workers who want to improve their skills in preparation to become interpreters or translators.
It is free of charge and is being delivered by courtesy of the team at Polaron in response to unmet regional demand.
With presentations from experienced interpreters, NAATI, Monash University and Polaron’s management, the workshop aims to help prospective language professionals to improve their skills and gain an understanding of how the interpreting and translation industry works.
Amongst others, we’ll discuss pathway to become professional interpreters and translators, rates and remuneration and business skills required to make this a sustainable profession. We’ll also cover some ethical aspects of the job.
Participants will also learn how to use translation tools and technology to make their work easier. By the end of the training, they will feel more confident and ready to explore becoming a language professional.
