Nanci Griffith, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keene, Jerry Jeff Walker and others have said that Bill and Bonnie Hearne were the key figures in the development of the Austin Music Sound of the seventies.
All of them held Bill and Bonnie in such high reverence not only as artists but as friends.
Bonnie is gone, but Bill Hearne carries on these days playing at the famous La Fonda Hotel on the Plaza in Santa Fe, as well as at other venues in Santa Fe, Taos and Austin.
Bill's strong flat picking guitar style and wide-ranging song repertoire is guaranteed to get people up and dancing from the first song to the last.
