Billy May with Blue Stockings

Having played in groups such as such big water, Mannequin Radio, Maia Toakley, Ned Olive, The Sweetharps, Bonetwister and Apache to name a few, Sydney/Eora’s Billy May has decided to embark on a solo music journey. Inspired by songwriters like Fiona Apple and Jeff Buckley, Billy’s songs evoke bittersweet feelings of love and loss. Having spent the latter half of 2024 cutting his teeth on the Sydney live music circuit. Having his music gig-tested heavily playing alongside acts like Beryl, Lee Sullivan, EBS and Grace Turbo, he went into ‘The Confectionary’ recording studio in Newtown in October to start working on his debut release. Set to be released in early 2025, Billy and his band will be doing a couple of shows in QLD to gear up for the release. Playing in Naamba/Nambour and Meanjin/Brisbane and joined by some of QLDs finest acts, this will be Billy May and his band’s QLD debut and you won’t want to miss it!
