Bio Char workshop

Price $10 AUD + BF Get tickets

Event description

Please join us in Uraidla for a Biochar information session and demonstration.

If there’s one thing you should add to your soil this winter, it’s biochar.

This carbon-rich charcoal offers numerous benefits for gardeners and growers:

  • enhances soil fertility by creating an ideal habitat for beneficial microbes and increases crop yields by storing nutrients.
  • improves water retention and drainage,
  • reduces soil acidity,
  • detoxifies soils by adsorbing pollutants,
  • boosts plant disease resistance.
  • Additionally, biochar captures and stores carbon, making it a stable, long-term soil amendment that helps reduce carbon emissions.

Winter is the perfect time to incorporate biochar into your garden, allowing microbes to rejuvenate the soil ahead of the growing season.

Did you know that the HEC has a Biochar kiln that you are welcome to borrow.

So please join us for this workshop to learn how!

Meet at:

23 Elborough Ave, Uraidla

A-frame house on left, approx. 200 m down the dirt road after the end of the bitumen.

Bookings essential.
