Biochar workshop at Lameroo

Price FREE Register

Event description

Join the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board to find out how biochar can be used to enhance on-farm sustainability and support soil health. This practical workshop will include a demonstration of a live biochar kiln (weather permitting), with biochar expert Kelvin Williams from Maccy Biochar presenting.

Find out how to make farm-scale biochar from on farm by-products, see last year’s compost biochar demonstration site results and pick the brains of our Soil Extension Officer, Barrie Williams.

Jeremy Nelson, Sustainable Agriculture Facilitator with the landscape board, will also be at the event to talk to attendees about our upcoming project to help landholders interested in exploring carbon farming at an enterprise level.

Attendance is free but registrations are essential. Lunch will be provided, and the event will finish at approximately 1:00 pm.

For more information, contact Barrie Williams - Soil Extension Officer at barrie.williams@sa.gov.au

This project is supported by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board with funding from the South Australian Government’s Landscape Priorities Fund and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.
